Nomad...

It seems every time I finish travelling, I'm ready to go again.

Absent without Leave...

Good Golly Miss Molly - I have been a terrible blogger person.. I have not posted anything lovely in little more than 4 months. A time scale I can barely believe, as for all this time I have not been writing away, I have been living in America, and blimey how this quarter of a year has flown. I am positively in shock. So I did it fellow bloggers, I made the jump. I got onto a plane and moved to America. The bright lights, 24 hour convienience stores and drive through ATM's have taken me in a whirlwind of emigration to the other side of the world. It is only now that I am beginning to feel settled, having filled up my house with vintage furniture, British Bunting and quaint floral crockery I am feeling rather at home here! The people are friendly, the weather is hot (occasionally. I've been told considering we seem to be experiencing the worst springtime ever) and the life is good. Very merrily good. And so, it is with much excitement that I finally get around to posting something for the first time from across the pond! A sign of things to come, I brownie promise, I won't abandon you for this length of time ever again little blog. Unless of course, somewhere in the distant future I decide once more to up sticks and move to a far flung corner of the world. Until then, normal blogging procedure will proceed. Keep calm and carry on...

Suitcase living

With the winter sun setting early, my grey days have been limited somewhat with hours of daylight. As soon as I'm up and ready to go, it begins to get dark. It's the ever punishing inability to be productive in daylight that leads me working late into the night. Although blissfully, my days of work in this country are over, and I have spent many an hour of quality time with my kitty, making sure she knows I love her to pieces before I jet off and she worries for my whereabouts. I've told her my bed is hers, and she seems to be fairly happy with this. Packing is becoming somewhat of a chore, clothing choices being limited to the weather out there I find myself packing and unpacking, changing my mind at all stages. I have decided I will start a new blog, more of a diary so people at home can keep up with my adventures. I'll set that up within the next week or two, so keep a beady eye out! As for now, photo corner awaits you...

Two Thousand and Eleven.

Well the New Year is upon us. I have gained a pair of Khaki pocket skinnies from my darling friend, some vintage goodies from another, mugs of all shapes and sizes to take away with me (I assume much tea will be drunk in the mornings to rid me of my jet lag) and gorge floral fabrics to adorn my new bedroom. It is, my lovelies, now exactly 22 days until I leave for American soil. I am beginning to have a tiny breakdown. Most of my room is assorted into various boxes for packing and I am running out of time to make the various photo albums of memories I promised myself I would. But I have spent lots of quality time with my besties in the snow, country pubs and alcohol fuelled nights in town. Furthermore, I am very much looking forward to my last three weeks in England, starting with a road trip to Nottingham to visit my oldest friend. Sixteen years and counting and we are still as ridiculous as we were when we were eight years old. I hope 2011 brings you all everything you wanted. Peace out.

Tash Talking...

The end of Movember is almost upon us and soon, those lucky enough to glimpse the outward culmination of a month of raising awareness will see hundreds of men out on the street with marvelous facial hair lovingly fashioned into an array of styles spanning the decades. I have my favourites, mainly being the handlebars, and the Poirot. Who couldn't love a modern man sporting a 1920s tash for one month a year? Wear them proudly brave walkers of this city!

Earlier this month my friends and I did a little celebrating ourselves, with a Mexican Movember Fajita night, complete with stick on decorations for those of us who weren't blessed with the ability to grow our own. All this talk of tashes has sent me a little doolally and I have found myself oogling a range of tash related purchases that suddenly I find ever so appealing... repeat after me, Happy Movember!

Rockin' Robin

Tweet Tweet Tweet!

It has been through much deliberation and pestering (mainly the latter) that I have finally joined the ranks of Twitter. I know how very late I am to this game, please do not shake your head at me, but for some reason I had developed, for what absurdity I know not, a strange adherence to it. Somewhere in the back of my mind a little thought was saying 'nope nope nope, do not join it' and I went about my business doing as I was told. However, my overwhelming urge to know what Audrina Patridge is doing at all times has become a burden too heavy to bare, and I have cracked under the pressure.

Pretty please follow me you lovely people, right

'here here here'

and I shall no longer be tweeting to myself. As to be honest, that does feels rather odd. You can also see my latest purchase, as after following ASOS who sent out a link to a 20% off voucher I have spent the best part of my evening looking for a new dress for an occasion I am not yet attending. How very apt of a seasonal blog post to also have a double meaning, enjoy.

Oopsie Daisy

So it turns out I'm not very good at this whole regular blogging thing. I have abandoned my little bit of online space for well over a month now. No, I haven't been travelling the world and reaching for inner spirituality once again, but I do have a rather splendid excuse. I have got myself a job. Not just a freelance job, or a part time job selling my wares, but a proper full time, fully paid up design job. I am officially in the fashion business, rather than skirting round the edges throwing my drawings at people on the inside. Please cheer for me, I feel very grown up right about now.

But with being an adult, comes responsibility. Mine is that I have to relocate, all the way over to the big U S of A. I am headed to Columbus, Ohio (you very clever birdies will have an inkling as to which company I'll be working for now) to start my new life as a Womenswear/Knitwear Designer. I leave in January and have much to do before then, but will try my socks off to keep this blog afloat.

I think it will now take a slightly different direction, being as I am moving countries this may become slightly more personal, as well as my little online research folder, so as my chums at home and you out there who follow me can see what I've been getting up to with my new found freedom! So please accept my dearest apologies for not posting in quite some time, but I hope you find this a suitable reason and please do keep checking back, it's nice to know it's being read!
