La Glacon

They're calling him Indonesia's answer to Alexander McQueen. With a statement like that I had to see what all the fuss what about and by golly they're right. Enter Tex Saverio. His designs are exquisite, so beautiful. Showing La Glacon, which translates into Icicle at Jakarta Fashion week, here are the cream of the crop...

Them Then

Elliot Lee Hazel's dreamscape of floating models and dusty sets feel as if they should be suited more to Rodarte maybe, or even Marc Jacobs. You won't find any reems of tulle or feather light silk in Them's S/S 2011 collection, but the scenes are just right to ooze out the simplicity and detail of the casualwear on offer. It looks effortlessly cool, which I imagine is exactly what they were aiming for.

Tash Talking...

The end of Movember is almost upon us and soon, those lucky enough to glimpse the outward culmination of a month of raising awareness will see hundreds of men out on the street with marvelous facial hair lovingly fashioned into an array of styles spanning the decades. I have my favourites, mainly being the handlebars, and the Poirot. Who couldn't love a modern man sporting a 1920s tash for one month a year? Wear them proudly brave walkers of this city!

Earlier this month my friends and I did a little celebrating ourselves, with a Mexican Movember Fajita night, complete with stick on decorations for those of us who weren't blessed with the ability to grow our own. All this talk of tashes has sent me a little doolally and I have found myself oogling a range of tash related purchases that suddenly I find ever so appealing... repeat after me, Happy Movember!

Let's set sail...

This legend, quite literally, inspires me to work harder.

Atelier Versace

The Pattern Cutters over at Versace have outdone themselves once more. The collection was divine, but with Monika Jagaciak draping those pleats it is almost perfection. Even couture can do lookbooks, and undoubtedly better than most...

Zink Me

A few select favourites from the holiday issue of Zink. Knitted knickers and knee highs you say? Don't mind if I do...

Rockin' Robin

Tweet Tweet Tweet!

It has been through much deliberation and pestering (mainly the latter) that I have finally joined the ranks of Twitter. I know how very late I am to this game, please do not shake your head at me, but for some reason I had developed, for what absurdity I know not, a strange adherence to it. Somewhere in the back of my mind a little thought was saying 'nope nope nope, do not join it' and I went about my business doing as I was told. However, my overwhelming urge to know what Audrina Patridge is doing at all times has become a burden too heavy to bare, and I have cracked under the pressure.

Pretty please follow me you lovely people, right

'here here here'

and I shall no longer be tweeting to myself. As to be honest, that does feels rather odd. You can also see my latest purchase, as after following ASOS who sent out a link to a 20% off voucher I have spent the best part of my evening looking for a new dress for an occasion I am not yet attending. How very apt of a seasonal blog post to also have a double meaning, enjoy.

They were here first...

This is my favourite ever song. I hate it when people say that, but something that is nothing short of genius deserves to have the ultimate title. A tune that has no music, no natural instruments, words that are taken from movie reels and yet this measures absolute perfection to my ears. Even if the video leaves a little to be desired, just close your eyes.

Philly Y'all

Lauren Moffatt is currently rocking my 'wish it were still summer' world. When I realised it was realistically far too cold now to wear any of these pieces, I threw a small tantrum.

Oopsie Daisy

So it turns out I'm not very good at this whole regular blogging thing. I have abandoned my little bit of online space for well over a month now. No, I haven't been travelling the world and reaching for inner spirituality once again, but I do have a rather splendid excuse. I have got myself a job. Not just a freelance job, or a part time job selling my wares, but a proper full time, fully paid up design job. I am officially in the fashion business, rather than skirting round the edges throwing my drawings at people on the inside. Please cheer for me, I feel very grown up right about now.

But with being an adult, comes responsibility. Mine is that I have to relocate, all the way over to the big U S of A. I am headed to Columbus, Ohio (you very clever birdies will have an inkling as to which company I'll be working for now) to start my new life as a Womenswear/Knitwear Designer. I leave in January and have much to do before then, but will try my socks off to keep this blog afloat.

I think it will now take a slightly different direction, being as I am moving countries this may become slightly more personal, as well as my little online research folder, so as my chums at home and you out there who follow me can see what I've been getting up to with my new found freedom! So please accept my dearest apologies for not posting in quite some time, but I hope you find this a suitable reason and please do keep checking back, it's nice to know it's being read!
