Aren't you Handsome...

Swimsuits. Every summer an endless battle rages inside me as to whether I should make the jump from bikini to swimsuit. It's a hard decision. Whilst they do provide more coverage of certain unruly body areas you wish for few people to see, they are also definitively hard to pull off unless you are an extra in a rap video, or look like you are about to embark on a professional marathon swim around the holiday pool. My other pet peeve is that come April, the bikini is available in a vast array of styles and prints where as the lowly swimsuit cowers at the back of the store in one size fits all, which more often that not, doesn't. Please, give us a little more to work with. Oh hello 'We Are Handsome', where have you been all my life? This is more like it. Not only would I wear this brazenly on the beach at all times, you can pull them off in town too. This is the future of swimwear, and I'm loving it.

Give me romance...

I need this. It's like my life; on a tote bag. Maybe I'll meet my knight in shining armour through the use of it, who will sweep me off my feet and take me to far away places for new adventures. Oh, and buy me pretty vintage jewellery. Heart.

How Whymsical...

By gum, Jeurgen Teller you have done it again, another flawless Marc Jacobs campaign. He captures the careless girly luxury of the Fall 2010 collection effortlessly. The neutral tones, the airy materials and whimsy silhouettes are utterly dreamy, in the rural sense of the word. I've always loved these two as individual talents, and together they're a force to be reckoned with.

I will follow you into the dark...

Even the mere thought of Death Cab for Cutie sends me into a spin of melancholy reflection. This is one of my all time favourite songs, I am always in the mood to listen to this perfect voice.

Crystal crystal on the wall...

Amazing pleated style creations shown at Amsterdam Fashion Week. Designed by Architect Daniel Widrig and aptly named 'Crystallization'. Insanely beautiful and reminds me a little of bones don't you agree?

Khalo's Anatomy...

Givenchy's 2010 Paris Couture Collection is breathtaking. Delicately arranged feathers, hairs and silks provide only the back drop to intricately pieced together garments dripping with embellishment that look absolutely beautiful. A fantasists dreamworld, this collection was inspired by Frida Khalo's lifelong obsessions with religion, sensuality and the human body. Quite numbing in it's intensity.

Cut throat...

Apologies for another jewellery post in such quick succession but I simply cannot help myself. I spend hours on end picking up rare little necklaces and rings from quaint little Antique shops and market places, I have a whole room full of trinkets and yet I can't stop buying more. Woe is me, I have a gold necklace addiction. Mary Andrews lives in Brooklyn (I know, I want to live in a metal doored loft conversion in downtown too) and makes these magical little treasures from pocket knives. Oh, and a necklace made from a door key, what else could you possibly want from your accessories?

Boy oh Boy...

Band of Outsiders are one of my favourite designers for clothing of the boy variety.  It should be compulsory for all men to dress this way, although saying that I would fall in love on a daily basis if this were the case. Well dressed, scruffy shoed, rough around the edges boys, swoon swoon.

I like to ride my Bicycle...

A little musical interlude pour vous. Bombay Bicycle Club have been the soundtrack to my recent late nights of slaving away over my portfolio and have been a wonderful accompaniment to my watercolours and pencil shavings.

Crochet to go...

I cannot count the amount of times a friend and I have given voices to various Pigeons whilst eating al fresco on the streets of London. Here are the ingenious works of Laurel Roth who's set named 'Biodiversity Reclamation Suits for Urban Pigeons' consists of wholly wonderfully designed little fancy pants garments. Each bird is even given its own name and theme. Now wouldn't making knitted outfits for these birds of flight be a perfect end use to my degree? I thought so too.

Incognito...

My my, if this isn't the darnedest best ring I have ever seen. If anyone is still to buy me a birthday present...hint hint. Only problem is, it's all the way over in San Fransisco, made by The Harbinger Co. I can't help but think our little country gets sorely overlooked in the jewellery stakes. Send some our way please.

Happy Mondays...

A little Monday pick me up involving blossom and bunnies. What more could you need to spark a smile on a rainy Summer's day. Enjoy...

J'adore Chanel...

Oh bien fait chanel, je vous aime très beaucoup. The softly playing Piano solo, the space, the ambience, the calm steps of the beautiful models coveting only the most perfectly made garments at the feet of a gigantic Lion. I shall expect gold encrusted animals at every show from now on.

I believe in Unicorns...

Since I was little, Unicorns have been my favourite animal. I know they aren't exactly real, but one can live in a dreamworld. Personally, I much prefer this to actual reality. I post this in ode to my beloved Anna Taylor, and her gorgeous blog on which I found this picture. I'm hoping she wont mind my borrowing it, as during our three years together at University, I spent most of it wanting to be a Unicorn...

The Wonderful World of Peter Jensen...

I believe Peter Jensen and I would get on like a house on fire if we ever met. For starters, we share a mutual love for bunny rabbits and both treasure a slightly off the beaten track form of fashion dearly. Despite being Danish, Jensen covets the British fashion circuit, designing collections based on our beloved home country. Alas, since last season he upped sticks to Manhattan to unveil his AW 2010 collection. But he will always be in my heart, mainly because I can't get enough of his work...

Hi, Baby...

A little lost and found for you. In my favourite place on this planet.

Uptown Girl...

Imagine the scene. Mid 1950s Los Angeles, the shade of the Beverly Hills hotels and the tree lined boulevards provide a perfect backdrop to Chris Benz's Resort '11. Painfully elegant with a Californian twist, this totally wearable collection is potently quirky in the subtle way that makes designers like Benz so successful. It screams amazing, but you just cant explain exactly why you love it so. Maybe it's the delectable ice cream colour palette you can wear to a business lunch,  or the drop waist dresses perfect for sipping cocktails in a hotel bar. Personally, I'll take those billowing shorts, kitten collared blouses and spine tinglingly large necklaces in every colour. Pretty please.

Doe, a deer, a female deer...

Oh sigh. Little Doe's latest collection of feathered head pieces are just wonderful. What self respecting fairytale daydreamer wouldn't want an ornate crown to wear whilst frolicking in the woodland is beyond me. It truly is love.

Pretty in Pink...

This floral duo are two pieces from Spanish designer Gemma Degara's S/S 11 collection. I keep finding myself in happy little daydreams about this top and purse combo, and how much better my life would be if I owned them...
